THE VALLEY OF THE GIANTS AND TREE TOP WALK AT WALPOLE: We are greeted with an informative talk by one of the guides, before experiencing a walk among the treetops. Returning to ground level, we take a stroll along the boardwalk through the “Ancient Empire”, a stand of huge old Tingle trees.

LASERSCAPE: An exciting and interactive outdoor combat sport using 21st century technology. Players use high-tec phasers to shoot an infra red beam to tag an opponent’s sensor. Providing players with physical and mental challenges, Laserscape is loads of fun and great exercise, promoting teamwork and communication.

WHALE WATCHING / SCENIC HARBOUR & SOUND CRUISE: Cruise around Princess Royal Harbour and King George Sound aboard the ‘Silver Star II’. If whales are scarce and weather permitting, we may be able to see seals, dolphins and where the former HMAS PERTH was sunk as a dive wreck.. We can also cruise around an old whale chaser. Day 1

Depart school at 8.00am and travel via Albany Highway to Williams for a comfort stop, then Kojonup for lunch.
We travel on towards Albany and arrive at our campsite to unpack and settle in at approximately 3.00 – 3.30pm. Afterwards there may be time for a beach walk along the secluded beach or sports games on the grassed areas to unleash some energy.

Day 2

A full day spent in and around Albany. Firstly we head to Southern Edge Arts to participate in a unique circus skill workshop. Activities can include juggling, tumbling, balances, teamwork etc. An awesome fun-filled morning of very physical activity! Journey out to Middleton beach for lunch on the grassed area. Also, we climb Mt Clarence to see the impressive memorial to the Desert mounted Corps and where the very first dawn service was held on Anzac Day and learn a little of the Anzac legend. Enjoy the great view over Albany and surrounding areas. We also travel out to the coast to take a look at the Albany wind farm and learn about the huge wind driven turbine generators. The walk through the wind farm includes a short section of the famous Bibbulman Track. Then it’s back to camp for showers.

Day 3

Today we travel out and around the Princess Royal Harbour to Frenchman’s Bay and spend the morning visiting Discovery Bay & Whaleworld – the only whaling museum in the world established at an old whaling station. Enjoy a guided tour of the station (with informative commentary), then put on glasses to watch the new 3D movie – “Giants Exist” and other unique video attractions that are set up in renovated oil tanks. Also, climb aboard the old whale-chaser “Cheynes IV” for a look at how life was chasing whales on the high seas. We return to Albany for lunch and a visit to the historic “Forts” – continuing our Anzac experience. See the underground bunkers and big guns as well as the original fort buildings. The visit will also include the NATIONAL ANZAC CENTRE. – it’s well worth the visit. Everyone is given a different card and using multi -media technology, follow that person’s journey through the 1st World War. – A very interesting and worthwhile experience! On our way back through Albany, we call into the full size replica of the brig Amity, that brought the first settlers to Albany. Explore the decks and below to see what the cramped living conditions were on such a long journey. Return to camp for showers and dinner.

Day 4

After breakfast we depart for Denmark and visit the Pentland Alpaca Stud & Animal Farm. This is a very unique and definitely hands-on experience for everyone. Enjoy a farm walk and the opportunity to feed and hold a variety of baby animals. There are alpacas, ferrets, kangaroos, goats, calves, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, a camel, birds, a dingo, donkeys, emus deer, foxes’ and a Scottish highland calf.!! It’s usually hard to get the students out of here! Afterwards we have lunch back in Denmark on the banks of the river. Time permitting you may enjoy a walk around the town before heading back to camp. Some free time available for beach games or concert preparation etc

Day 5

Today it’s clean & pack up time then head back to Perth via Kojonup, Williams (lunch) and Armadale. Approximate arrival back at school is around 3.00pm.
